Fashion fades, only style remains the same...

street fashion is all about everyday living and ease. I love this photo as its not staged at all and just appears to be spontaneous. i find the composition interesting as well as you are drawn to the girls face laughing and then down the lead to the dog. Also the use of dull colours really contrasts with the red of the collar and the shop front. The street location is great as its so distressed and shows normality strongly.

I really like this photo as compared to the dull grey bricks in the background the girl really stands out and is bold as the central focal point. The effortless style is very appealing as its perhaps something that people may not notice in  their everyday lives but put into a photographic setting its a lot more interesting than that of studio shoots.

looking at these images i am really getting a feel of what i would want to be heading for in my first shoot. Each image contains key features: the dirty settings, grey backgrounds, graffiti, and the subject being spontaneous.

"I think there is beauty in everything. What ‘normal’ people would perceive as ugly, I can usually see something of beauty in it." — Alexander McQueen

My chosen genre for this topic is fashion photography. I have a strong interest in how fashion has different parts to it, the cheap fashion that is lived in and then that which is admired by others. I want to look into the comfortable, distressed fashion seen on the streets rather than formulated fashion on the runways and in magazines. Street fashion is a term used to describe looks which have emerged from individuals and not from studios, and is associated heavily with youth culture. Being able to capture these styles shows us much more about modern fashion than magazines or catwalk shows of high fashion.
